Life, Liberty and the Puruse of Crapiness

Friday, February 13, 2004

I miss the days when friends dropped by unannounced. Hanging out replaced playing and then calendars and Palms and laptops took over. While there’s a lot about adulthood that’s worthwhile there’s enough of youth and adolescence to miss. “Youth is wasted on the young.” – George Bernard Shaw. I think. But I’m not going to look it up now.

It’s amazing what I can consider a full day. A trip to the doctor’s office. A prescription filled. Cooking dinner. I guess too, I worked on getting my room cleaned up. It seems like it’s a never-ending project. I just got a new computer along with a bunch of other stuff: a digital camera (Canon sd-10 – pretty dope too, the smallest 4-megapixel made, yippee!), an iPod, iPod accessories, and other miscellany. It’s kind of exciting but it’s been consuming a lot of my time and energy. And it’s made a mess of my room.

Obviously, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. I’ve got no girlfriend and no date. It’s actually fine. Lately, though, I’ve been missing S. We broke up last year and I thought that was it. But maybe it’s not. It’s confusing. I know she’s a catch. Wonderful in a million ways. But we couldn’t make it work. It just got to that point where it was beyond fixing. So much of it had to do with me too. I wish it weren’t so.

Ok, time for a snack.
